Softball Recap: Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Gets the Win

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Hancock Eagles, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since May 30th.

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for West Hancock, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garner-Hayfield/Ventura will face off against Belmond-Klemme at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Hancock, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Union at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
