Softball Game Preview: Cardinal Comets vs. Chariton Chargers

The Cardinal Comets will square off against the Chariton Chargers on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cardinal has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Chariton will arrive with five straight wins.

Cardinal had taken Columbus down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Comets took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Chariton got the win against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Friday by a conclusive 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Chariton's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Cardinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
