Basketball Recap: Wyoming East Warriors vs. Mingo Central Miners

The Wyoming East Warriors can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 72-51 margin over Mingo Central. Winning may never get old, but Wyoming East sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Wyoming East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Clark led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. Clark has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Cadence Blackburn was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Mingo Central still got an impressive performance from Addie Smith, who scored 33 points. Smith is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games she's played.

Wyoming East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Mingo Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Wyoming East will head out on the road to challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Summers County will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Mingo Central, they will face off against the Huskies at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (North Marion is ranked 30th, while the Miners are ranked 45th).
