Softball Recap: Hiram Takes a Loss

Hiram lost against Paulding County back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hornets came up short against the Patriots, falling 15-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 12, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Hiram saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marlee Greathouse, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Paulding County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hiram will face off against Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paulding County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hillgrove at 7:00 p.m.
