Recap: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Shady Side Academy Bulldogs
The Ligonier Valley Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Shady Side Academy 73-30. While losing is never fun, Ligonier Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Shady Side Academy is ranked 95th).
Ligonier Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Marlee Miller and Abby Springer. Miller scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Springer scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Ligonier Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Shady Side Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ligonier Valley will take on Deer Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shady Side Academy, they will be playing at home against Apollo Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
