Basketball Recap: Avella's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Avella's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 45-39 win over the Bishop Canevin Crusaders. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Bishop Canevin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kya Cooley posted 20 points. Belle Sysak was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Avella's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Bishop Canevin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West Greene the next time they take the court. Bishop Canevin will head out to face West Greene at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Avella will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
