Baseball Game Preview: Therrell Panthers vs. Lovejoy Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Therrell Panthers duke it out with Lovejoy Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Therrell has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Therrell fell victim to Drew Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to Drew Charter. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy didn't have quite enough to beat Jackson on Saturday and fell 4-3. The Wildcats have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Lovejoy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Finkley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Finkley has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played.

Therrell has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Therrell has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lovejoy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Therrell suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Lovejoy in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Therrell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
