Basketball Recap: Great Commission Sets Scoring Season-High Against Dubois Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Commission). They secured a 55-51 W over DuBois Christian on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bears' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 589th, while DuBois Christian are ranked 193rd).

Leading Great Commission to victory were Alexa Hall and Ava Bordack. Hall posted 19 points and three steals, while Bordack went 5 of 9 en route to 18 points and seven boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hall has scored at least a third of Great Commission's points. Bayla Miller was another key player, putting up ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Great Commission and bumps their season record up to 5-8. As for DuBois Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Johnstown Christian the next time they take the court. Great Commission will host Johnstown Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while DuBois Christian will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
