Softball Recap: Skutt Catholic Takes a Loss

If Skutt Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Northwest on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The SkyHawks lost 12-6 to the Blair Bears on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the SkyHawks of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Kaycie Dai was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Skutt Catholic now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Blair, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Skutt Catholic will head out to face off against Duchesne/Roncalli at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duchesne/Roncalli's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Skutt Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blair, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
