Central Lee posted their closest  victory since June 12th on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  win over the Keokuk Chiefs. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the   8-4 victory the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in June of 2024.
The  win made it two in a row for Central Lee and  bumps their season record up to 25-7. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Keokuk, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-25 record  this season.
 Central Lee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  9-5  loss against Louisa-Muscatine on the 3rd. As for Keokuk, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  14-2  defeat against Washington on the 3rd.
