Basketball Recap: Jaslene Nixon and Leilyn Goldberg Secure Win for Sweetwater

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest SD, Sweetwater was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 38-27 win over the Castle Park Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Trojans back in January, they had to take a 40-35 defeat.

Leading Sweetwater to victory were Leilyn Goldberg and Jaslene Nixon. Goldberg posted 16 points, while Nixon put up 14 points. The dominant performance gave Goldberg a new career-high in points.

Castle Park's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Monserrat Medrano, who scored nine points, and Ahliah Samaniego, who had six points.

Sweetwater's record is now 6-12. As for Castle Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Sweetwater has already played their next game, a 33-29 victory against San Ysidro on the 11th. As for Castle Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-26 loss against Orange Glen on the 11th.
