Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Sanger's Third in Last Four Outings

Sanger won the last time they faced Edison, and Lucy Takeda did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sanger Apaches claimed a resounding 58-26 victory over the Edison Tigers thanks to Takeda, who posted 16 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Micaela Cole, who had five points and eight rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of Sanger's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is undefeated (and 12-13 when she doesn't).

Sanger is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. As for Edison, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.

Coming up, Sanger will square off against Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sanger is facing Independence at the right time seeing as Independence is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
