Softball Game Preview: Warrensburg Tigers vs. Odessa Bulldogs

The Warrensburg Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Odessa Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warrensburg has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Warrensburg couldn't beat Belton on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Tigers came up short against the Pirates, falling 20-5. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Aspen Osborn was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Odessa earned a 9-5 win over Clinton on Wednesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Cross looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bella Blackaby, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Burks, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

The win got Odessa back to even at 8-8. As for Warrensburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Warrensburg couldn't quite get it done against Odessa in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
