Volleyball Recap: Bethany Christian Comes Up Short

Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-7.

Elkhart Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cambri Knafel led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave Knafel a new career-high. Kiara Trovatore was another key player, getting 11 assists and six digs.

Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Bethany Christian will square off against Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Churubusco on the 13th.
