Basketball Recap: Homer-Center Wildcats vs. Richland Rams
Homer-Center managed to keep up with Richland until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Homer-Center Wildcats came up short against the Richland Rams, falling 50-25. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 49-37 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Richland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leyna Roman out in front who went 6 for 10 on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Roman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Macey, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.
Homer-Center dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Richland, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
