Baseball Recap: Georgia Christian Beats Augusta Prep Day for Their Fourth Straight Win

Georgia Christian entered their tilt with Augusta Prep Day on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They beat the Cavaliers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Mac Bowling made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Anthony Alaniz was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Colton Hall was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Georgia Christian's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Augusta Prep Day, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

Coming up, Georgia Christian will square off against Trinity Christian on the 16th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Generals 2.8, the Crusaders 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Augusta Prep Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
