Basketball Game Preview: Bravo Knights vs. Gertz-Ressler Pumas

After both having extra time off, the Bravo Knights and the Gertz-Ressler Pumas will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bravo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past University Pathways Medical Magnet 71-18 last Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Gertz-Ressler came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Rise Kohyang 35-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pumas have posted since December 5, 2023.

Gertz-Ressler's win came from a few key players Bravo will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bernadett Olivares, who posted 17 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Mejia, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 12 points.

The victory got Gertz-Ressler back to even at 4-4. As for Bravo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Bravo strolled past Gertz-Ressler in their previous meeting back in February of 2018 by a score of 58-40. Does Bravo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gertz-Ressler turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
