The Salina Central Mustangs will head out to challenge the Eisenhower Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Salina Central took on Haysville Campus on Friday. The Mustangs took their game with ease, bagging a 62-13 victory over the Colts. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Cooper Reves and Griffin Hall were among the main playmakers for Salina Central as the former rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries and the latter threw for 128 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Hall a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Salina Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Salina Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kytrell Johnson, Jeremiah Smith, and Alex Garcia picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eisenhower, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They breezed past Newton to the tune of 46-13 on Friday.
Salina Central better keep an eye on Brayden Pappas. He was instrumental in Eisenhower's win, rushing for 244 yards and four scores while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Pappas was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Ribaudo, who threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Eisenhower's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Salina Central, their record is now 3-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Salina Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 289.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Eisenhower struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 150.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Salina Central might still be hurting after the 51-28 loss they got from Eisenhower in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 41-7.
