Baseball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Laney Wildcats

Butler hasn't had much luck against Laney recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Butler will take on Laney at 5:30 p.m. Butler will be strutting in after a win while Laney will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Butler made easy work of Glenn Hills and carried off a 23-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Halcyon Leverett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Naquez Moss was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Laney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 25-1 to Thomson.

The victory got Butler back to even at 1-1. As for Laney, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Butler suffered a grim 21-11 defeat to Laney in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Butler avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
