Volleyball Recap: Hortonville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Hortonville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Fond du Lac Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Polar Bears have suffered since October 24, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.

Leading Fond du Lac to victory were Breahna Mentink and Liberty Gessner. Mentink had 12 digs and two aces, while Gessner had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Gessner has posted over her last six matches.

Hortonville's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Fond du Lac, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

After both having extra time off, Hortonville and Appleton North will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fond du Lac, they will square off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
