Basketball Game Preview: Ray Bearcats vs. Duncan Wildkats

The Ray Bearcats will face off against the Duncan Wildkats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ray knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Duncan likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Ray came up short against Fort Thomas and fell 71-60.

Ray's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Seth Wade, who shot 6-for-11 from deep and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards, and Chase Chester, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points. Chester's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Chris Curiel was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Ray was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Duncan slipped by Santa Rita 46-45 on Wednesday.

Duncan has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Ray was able to grind out a solid victory over Duncan when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 44-31. Will Ray repeat their success, or does Duncan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
