Basketball Game Preview: Southwest EC Eagles vs. Vincent Memorial Scots

The Southwest EC Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Vincent Memorial Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest EC has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight losses, while Vincent Memorial will come in with four straight wins.

Southwest EC is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Central on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Southwest EC had to suffer through a 67-15 loss at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1218th, while the Spartans are ranked 604th).

Meanwhile, Vincent Memorial didn't have too much trouble with Brawley on Thursday as they won 42-25.

Vincent Memorial pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Southwest EC, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Southwest EC was taken down by Vincent Memorial 69-31 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Southwest EC avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
