Baseball Recap: Johnson County Comes Up Short

Wilcox County hit Johnson County with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell 7-3 to the Patriots. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost nine in a row.

W. Peeples was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of J. Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Johnson County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Wilcox County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
