Baseball Recap: Augusta Christian Comes Up Short

Augusta Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Effingham Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Augusta Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Fernandes, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Augusta Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for South Effingham, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Augusta Christian will challenge Bulloch Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Effingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
