Basketball Recap: Foothills Christian Comes Up Short

Foothills Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Escondido Adventist Academy Hawks, falling 53-26. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-28 back in December of 2025.

Escondido Adventist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Izzy Baker, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. Baker has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Sayla Nhem was another key player, shooting 71% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven steals.

Foothills Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Escondido Adventist Academy, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothills Christian will challenge rival Coastal Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 29.4, the Stingrays 26.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Escondido Adventist Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Rock Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
