Basketball Game Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Silver Creek Raiders

Westmont is 0-4 against Silver Creek since January of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Westmont Warriors will be playing at home against the Silver Creek Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Westmont is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since December 29, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Ann Sobrato by a score of 40-38. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 725th).

Meanwhile, Silver Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Santa Teresa. The contest was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Raiders couldn't quite close it out.

Silver Creek's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-10. As for Westmont, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
