Soccer Game Preview: Lewis Central vs. Sioux City North

Lewis Central and Sioux City North are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Lewis Central sidestepped Denison-Schleswig for a 2-1 win.

While Sioux City North didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Le Mars 3-2. Given Sioux City North's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Le Mars are ranked 92nd) , the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lewis Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sioux City North, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Lewis Central skirted past Sioux City North 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
