Baseball Recap: Wilcox County Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wilcox County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-2 to the Lanier County Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Wilcox County's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Lanier County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season.

Wilcox County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lanier County, they will take on Baconton Charter on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 1.5, the Blazers 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
