Softball Recap: Community Takes a Loss

Community lost a heartbreaker to Montgomery County when they met back in October of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Trojans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Maci Poindexter made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Jocelyn Curtis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Community's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Montgomery County, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Community will take on Louisiana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montgomery County, they will challenge Elsberry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.9, the Indians 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
