Baseball Game Preview: St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings vs. Chattahoochee County Panthers

The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Chattahoochee County Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Anne-Pacelli will be strutting in after a win while Chattahoochee County will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, St. Anne-Pacelli was able to grind out a solid victory over Stratford Academy, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

St. Anne-Pacelli got a great performance from Austin Danison as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Danison also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Vikings are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Zittrauer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Braden Hudson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Chattahoochee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to Crawford County.

St. Anne-Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Chattahoochee County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-21.

Everything went St. Anne-Pacelli's way against Chattahoochee County when the teams last played back in April of 2015, as St. Anne-Pacelli made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
