Softball Recap: Grand Island Comes Up Short

Grand Island lost against Kearney last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Islanders came up short against the Bearcats, falling 8-1.

Grand Island saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Ascencion, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Grand Island has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Kearney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-10.

Grand Island has already played their next matchup, a 9-4 defeat against Lincoln Northeast on the 4th. As for Kearney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-11 win against Lincoln East on the 4th.
