Basketball Recap: Downtown Magnets Drops Season-High Score on Animo Bunche

Downtown Magnets was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the Animo Bunche Stallions. One positive for the Suns, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Downtown Magnets had strong showings from Rachael Lee, who posted seven points and ten steals, and Alexa Antolin, who had ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Antolin a new career-high in steals.

Downtown Magnets' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Animo Bunche, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downtown Magnets has already played their next contest (against Central City Value), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Animo Bunche will square off against Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Animo Bunche's offense hasn't had much luck over their past four matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
