Soccer Game Preview: Sanger vs. Clovis North

The Sanger Apaches will take on the Clovis North Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average, (Sanger: 0.5, Clovis North: 0.4) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Sanger is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Redwood just ended the team's seven-game winning streak two weeks ago. They and the Rangers finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Apaches happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 7, 2024.

Abby Cano and Ava Martinez scored both of Sanger's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, Clovis North kept a clean sheet against Buena last Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clovis North's victory bumped their record up to 6-1-2. Sanger's draw makes their record 10-1-1 this season.
