Football Recap: Junior Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blake over Bethesda-Chevy Chase + How To Watch

If Blake was riding high fresh off their 49-7 takedown of Magruder last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bengals took a 28-13 bruising from the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bengals of the 14-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2017.

Blake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Junior Rodriguez, who picked up 56 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 54 yards.

Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Blake will venture away from home to square off against Paint Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Bengals' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they will head out on the road to face off against Springbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Barons will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
