Softball Recap: Wharton Comes Up Short

Wharton lost against Bloomingdale back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wharton Wildcats fell just short of the Bloomingdale Bulls by a score of 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly two runs.

Adriana Cadicamo was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Skylah Stephens also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wharton and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Bloomingdale, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Wharton and Bloomingdale's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Wharton and Plant (who has only given up four runs per game) will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bloomingdale will take on Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed one run per game.
