Basketball Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Allegheny last Monday, Deer Lakes came back down to earth. The Deer Lakes Lancers had to suffer through a 53-22 loss at the hands of the Avonworth Antelopes. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Antelopes: they've now lost three in a row.

Deer Lakes' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Avonworth, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Lakes will welcome Ligonier Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Avonworth, they will be playing at home against Greensburg Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
