Softball Recap: Tina-Avalon Takes a Loss

Tina-Avalon extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-5. They came up short against the Glasgow Yellowjackets, falling 17-1. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tina-Avalon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydence Kelley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Glasgow, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Glasgow's side, Brooklynn Morris made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Morris has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Glasgow got a massive performance out of Kenley Strodtman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Strodtman has launched this season. Riley Olendorff was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tina-Avalon will host Pattonsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glasgow, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fayette at 5:00 p.m. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
