Basketball Recap: Diego Lopez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Amphitheater

There's no place like home for Douglas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Amphitheater Panthers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 93-72 back in January.

Douglas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Lopez, who posted 19 points and four steals. The match was Lopez's tenth in a row with at least 15 points. Elmer Maytorena was another key player, going 7 of 12 to rack up 14 points and four steals.

Douglas' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. As for Amphitheater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
