It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Santa Maria had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Santa Ynez Pirates as they made off with a 4-1 win. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Santa Ynez with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Darlyn Santiago Sanchez (2), Lucero Abundiz, and Isairis Ruiz.

Santa Maria pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight games. As for Santa Ynez, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Santa Maria will square off against Central Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Santa Maria surely won't give up without a fight. Santa Ynez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
