Football Game Preview: La Porte Slicers vs. Crown Point Bulldogs

The La Porte Slicers will venture away from home to square off against the Crown Point Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Porte has given up an average of 27.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

La Porte's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Merrillville on Friday. They were beaten by the Pirates 38-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Slicers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Crown Point put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Valparaiso as they made off with a 35-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Vikings are ranked 68th).

Crown Point's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for La Porte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

La Porte was dealt a bruising 42-0 defeat at the hands of Crown Point when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Slicers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
