Baseball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin lost to Mankato East back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Packers lost 14-4 to the Cougars. The Packers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hadyn Quitmeyer was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Mankato East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Coming up, Austin will square off against Faribault at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mankato East, they will face off against St. Peter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
