Softball Recap: West Laurens Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

West Laurens put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mary Persons Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Raiders have won 13 games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

West Laurens' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Mary Persons, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Coincidentally, West Laurens and Mary Persons will both be playing Jones County the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Greyhounds at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
