Softball Recap: Screven County Takes a Loss

Screven County managed to slip by Statesboro the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gamecocks came up short against the Blue Devils on Monday, falling 9-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Screven County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Statesboro, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Screven County will take on Portal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Statesboro, they will challenge South Effingham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season.
