St. Joseph snaps five-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: St. Joseph Spartans vs. Shady Side Academy Bulldogs
After a string of 14 wins, the St. Joseph Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 70-44 loss at the hands of Shady Side Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Joseph of the 60-48 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julie Spinelli, who scored 12 points along with three steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Spinelli posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Anna Kreinbrook, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
St. Joseph's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3. As for Shady Side Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.
St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shady Side Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
