Soccer Game Preview: Oakdale vs. Mountain House

The Oakdale Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Mountain House Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Oakdale's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Patterson 3-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Patterson with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kaia Cox, Lyndee Cox, and Dakota Burford.

Meanwhile, Mountain House has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They and Manteca finished up their game with a 0-0 draw on Monday. That draw made it three straight for the Mustangs.

Oakdale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six contests. Mountain House's draw gives them a new season record of 0-11-8.

Everything went Oakdale's way against Mountain House in their previous matchup back in January, as Oakdale made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakdale since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
