Football Recap: St. James Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Alec Jett and John Hornback

If St. James Academy was riding high fresh off their 24-0 takedown of Bishop Miege last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunder lost 42-21 to the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints on Friday. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Thunder couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, St. James Academy had strong showings from John Hornback, who threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns, and Alec Jett, who picked up 152 receiving yards and one TD. Jett really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 82 yards.

St. James Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. James Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Blue Valley Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Saint Thomas Aquinas will face off against rival Blue Valley on Friday.
