Soccer Game Preview: West Delaware vs. Independence

West Delaware is 0-6 against Independence since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Hawks will face off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

West Delaware is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Marion. While losing is never fun, West Delaware can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Marion are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Lisbon, falling 6-0. That's two games in a row now that Independence have lost by exactly six goals.

West Delaware's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1.
