Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

Cabrillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lompoc Braves. While losing is never fun, the Conquistadores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 974th, while the Braves are ranked 434th).

Tara Terrones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lompoc, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Terrones has become a key player for the Braves: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least ten boards, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Jansen, who posted eight points and 13 rebounds.

Cabrillo's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Lompoc, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Cabrillo has already played their next contest, a 61-22 defeat against Santa Ynez on the 3rd. As for Lompoc, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-26 loss against Morro Bay on the 3rd.
