Baseball Recap: Prout Takes a Loss

Prout couldn't beat Toll Gate on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Crusaders came up short against the Titans, falling 13-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in April.

Seth Edwards was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Liam Sprague was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Prout is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14. As for Toll Gate, they moved to 6-12-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prout will square off against West Warwick at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Toll Gate, they will challenge Narragansett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
