            Volleyball Recap: Hortonville Polar Bears vs. Appleton East Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            Hortonville waltzed into their contest  on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single  set of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Appleton East Patriots. For the Polar Bears, this counts as revenge for the   2-1 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in September of 2024.
 Hortonville wouldn't go down easily and took Appleton East into a fifth set  where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 17-25, 22-25,  15-9.

 Hortonville's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Katie Pomasl, who  had nine  digs and three  aces. That's the most  digs  Pomasl has posted  over her last eight  games.  Avery Hietpas was another key player,  getting nine  digs and three  aces.
Hortonville's record is now 11-8. As for Appleton East, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record  this season.
